DD is reading The Wizard of Oz with her class at school (3rd grade) and has been a royal pest about the topic. They read a chapter a day, and then we get a blow-by-blow report at home each night.
So... I got into action!
She already had a very nice witch costume for Marisol, and I had purchased a Dorothy outfit for one of my girls... the next steps should be obvious!!! I got a lion, a scarecrow and a tin-man costumes from ebay and a princess/good witch too!
DD also had an Irish dance outfit (nonAG) and I got her Nellie's outfit, too.
So, today, after she was done with homework, I started pestering her asking when was she going to change her girls into their costumes, since I had already changed mine.
Obviously, her reponse was that she did not have almost any costumes.
So, after I asked 3 or 4 times, she picked up the idea that there was a cat in the bag a nd started searching for "presents"
You should have seen her face, when she found a big gift bag with the Wizard of Oz dvd and all the costumes!!!! She was jumping up and down!!! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
So, the two of us spent over an hour changing girls! Now the list goes as follows:

Wow! That was such a nice surprise for your DD, I'm sure in years to come it will be something that she will remember always.
I can't wait to see pictures. Where did you get the costumes from? Not that I have much money right now, but I like to browse.

I can't wait to see the pics. I love the Wizard of Oz. Of course my Dorothy has to dress as Dorothy. I was thinking of getting a witch costume for Kirsten but really shouldn't spend the money now - maybe next year. My DD is in 3rd grade too. I wish they would read the book. The costumes are adorable. I'll be looking for your pictures.
